Welcome To Breaking Bread Zoe, Punks & Chancers
Hello & a very warm welcome back to the Birmingham food podcast breaking bread. Co-hosted by food-obsessed mates Liam & Carl, Breaking Bread gives you long-form interviews & discussions with the incredible people that make Brums food scene so amazing. This week we break bread with the awesome Zoe, from Punks & Chancers.
YES BAB, I’m pretty sure you have all heard of the brilliant Brum-based clothing brand Punks & Chancers. They make witty, positive, in your face, quality, punk as fu*ck T-shirts, beer mugs, as well as other sorts of clothing & accessories. Punks & Chancers is a brand that we love, so we used the food of Brum as an excuse to get to know their owner Zoe a bit better.
This is a podcast of two halves, one half about the Punks story, packed full of advice for businesses but very much tailored towards hospitality, & the second half all about where the awesome Zoe likes to eat in Brum.
Being Punk, Building A Brand & Finding Your Tribe Punks & Chancers Style
Work is a giant part of our lives you have to enjoy it, Zoe beams. Through Instagram, it certainly looks like Zoe loves what she does. Zoe designs makes and creates awesome products. On top of all the admin & business things an owner has to do and being an amazing mom to her two children, Zoe is a real life superhero.
Everything Punks & Chancers does is 100% aligned with Zoe’s beliefs. Often saying things publicly or designing products that could alienate future money-making opportunities, Zoe has no regrets. It is her loyalty to her core beliefs & absolute authenticity in everything she does that has won Punks & Chancers an army of loyal customers who absolutely love everything she does.
You should know exactly who you are & what you stand for and everything should radiate from there, this is true in business as it is for individuals in everyday life. You won’t be for everyone, but the people who love you will love you fanatically.
Where Does Zoe From Punks & Chancers Like To Go Out In Brum
Away from punks & chancers, Zoe loves getting out & about socialising. Her love of craft beer has resulted in two collabs with local brewers Brum Brewery & Attic Brewery, both a massive success rapidly selling out. Zoe enjoys eating at a few plant-based diet friendly eateries including Caneat in Stirchley, Land in the Great Western Arcade & The Plough in Harborne. The cocktails at Harborne Kitchen get a special mention as does Tropea & craft beer specialists The Paper Duck.
